FAQ:
1. What does Just Another Day do?

Just Another Day displays the current day of the week on your Apple Watch using complications.

It offers multiple complication styles (corner, circular, rectangular, inline) with optional color customization.

2. Do color settings apply to all complication styles?

No.

Apple watchOS enforces different rendering rules depending on the complication slot and watch face.

As a result:

  • Some complication styles fully support color

  • Some styles may appear monochrome (white or system color)

  • Some styles may ignore custom colors entirely

This behavior is controlled by watchOS, not by Just Another Day.

3. Which complication styles support color best?

In general, the following styles offer the most consistent color support:

  • Straight corner complications

  • Circular complications

  • Rectangular complications

Curved corner and inline styles may be rendered using system-enforced typography rules.

4. Why does some text appear in ALL CAPS?

Certain complication slots (such as curved corner and inline) apply automatic typography rules.

These rules may force:

  • ALL CAPS text

  • Monochrome rendering

This transformation is performed by watchOS after the text is provided by the app and cannot be overridden.

5. What does “System” color mean?

System allows watchOS to choose the most appropriate color for the current watch face and complication slot.

This often results in the best contrast and readability.

6. What are Color Presets?

Color Presets are a set of predefined colors provided by Just Another Day.

They offer consistent results across most supported complication styles.

7. What does Custom color do?

Custom allows you to select any color using the iPhone app.

Important:

  • Custom colors must be selected on the iPhone

  • The Apple Watch app cannot display a color picker

Once selected, the custom color syncs automatically to the Watch.

8. Why doesn’t the Watch app show a color picker?

watchOS does not provide a system color picker for third-party apps.

To ensure a clean and consistent experience, custom colors are configured on the iPhone.

10. Why didn’t my complication update immediately?

Complication updates are controlled by watchOS.

Delays may occur if:

  • The Watch and iPhone were temporarily disconnected

  • watchOS delayed the timeline refresh

  • The Watch was recently restarted

Opening the Just Another Day app on the watch usually forces a refresh.

11. What is the Preview row in Settings?

The Preview row shows how your selected color will appear using:

  • Short weekday format (e.g. WED)

  • Full weekday format (e.g. Wednesday)

This preview reflects the current color selection.

12. Does Just Another Day collect any data?

No. Absolutely not.

  • No accounts

  • No analytics

  • No tracking

  • No ads

  • No servers

All settings remain on your devices.

13. Is Just Another Day using the internet?

No.

Any cellular or network toggles shown in iOS Settings are standard system entries.

No data ever leaves your iPhone or Apple Watch.

14. Why are there multiple rectangular sizes?

Different watch faces and layouts benefit from different text sizes.

Just Another Day provides:

  • Small

  • Medium

  • Large

  • X-Large

Each size is offered as a separate complication option.

15. Is this a calendar app?

No.

Just Another Day focuses solely on displaying the current weekday.

It does not manage events, reminders, or scheduling.

16. Does Just Another Day run in the background?

No.

Complications update on schedules defined by watchOS.

The app does not run continuously.

17. What impact does Just Another Day have on battery life?

Minimal.

The app performs no background processing beyond standard complication updates.

18. Can I request new features?

Yes.

Feature suggestions are welcome, provided they align with Apple’s platform guidelines and the app’s simple, focused design.
