This Privacy Policy explains how Xcitation Software (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information for the Reimager macOS application and the website located at https://xcitationsoftware.com (the “Site”). We design Reimager to run entirely on your Mac and to avoid collecting personal data wherever possible.

Reimager (macOS app)
What the app does not do:
- No account creation or sign-in.
- No in-app analytics, tracking, or ads.
- No data collection or transmission to our servers.
- No background uploads of your images or logs.
How your images are processed:
- All image conversions occur locally on your Mac.
- You choose files and folders to convert (e.g., via drag-and-drop or an open dialog). Reimager only accesses the paths you select.
- Reimager uses system components and bundled libraries to perform conversions; it does not send your images to any cloud service.
App permissions:
- Reimager requests file access only when you choose files/folders. It does not scan other locations.
- Reimager does not request access to Contacts, Calendars, Camera, Microphone, Location, Bluetooth, or similar protected resources.
Third-party libraries inside the app:
- Reimager bundles image processing libraries (e.g., ImageMagick components) for on-device conversions. These libraries run locally and do not transmit your content.
- If your macOS supports Apple ImageIO for certain formats, the app may use Apple’s on-device encoder/decoder. Again, no data leaves your device because of this.
Crash/diagnostics:
- We do not collect crash reports directly. If you obtained Reimager from the Mac App Store and opt in to share diagnostics with developers, Apple may share anonymized crash logs with us under Apple’s policies.
Website (xcitationsoftware.com)
Our Site is designed to collect the minimum necessary information.
- Server logs: Standard web server logs (e.g., IP address, user agent, date/time) may be retained briefly for security and maintenance.
- Cookies: We aim to avoid non-essential cookies. If the Site later uses analytics or embeds that set cookies, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notices/controls.
- Contact: If you contact us, we will use your message solely to respond and resolve your request, and retain it only as long as necessary.
Purchases via Apple
If you purchase Reimager through the Mac App Store, Apple is the merchant of record. Any billing information is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies. We do not receive your full payment details.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, or objection. Because we do not collect app usage or personal data on our servers, many rights requests will result in confirmation that we do not hold your personal data. You can contact us for any privacy questions.
Children’s Privacy
Reimager and our Site are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
We do not operate user databases for Reimager. Any website contact emails you send to us may be processed in the country where our email provider stores messages.
Data Security
Reimager performs processing locally on your device. For the Site and email, we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect information, but no method is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect the most recent changes. Material updates will be highlighted on this page.
